PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire an Equipment Maintenance Technician who knows how to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the equipment that keeps production running.

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you'll help maintain the reliability, safety, and availability of critical manufacturing equipment at an aviation facility in Kinston, North Carolina.

From preventive maintenance and electrical troubleshooting to repairing automated gantry systems, PLCs, CNC machinery, and tooling fixtures, your work will help minimize downtime and ensure equipment is ready when production teams need it.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintain industrial equipment and systems in operational condition using established standards and maintenance best practices.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, jigs, tools, and related equipment to maintain readiness and availability.

• Conduct routine, periodic, and special inspections to identify maintenance and repair needs before equipment breakdowns occur.

• Test, inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machines and production equipment.

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, sketches, layouts, specifications, and technical instructions.

• Work with PLC and CNC systems, automated equipment, gantry systems, and tooling fixtures.

• Perform required disassembly and assembly operations to complete maintenance and repair assignments.

• Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.

• Move, position, and support heavy equipment and installed property using established procedures.

• Perform necessary rigging activities associated with equipment maintenance and movement.

• Obtain and deliver materials and equipment required for plant maintenance and repairs.

• Enter, generate, and retrieve maintenance information within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

• Order necessary parts to complete assigned maintenance tasks.

• Accurately complete documentation related to maintenance activities, work orders, job cards, and equipment readiness.

• Follow all applicable safety, quality, Foreign Object Debris (FOD), clean-as-you-go, and OSHA requirements.

• Communicate technical and complex equipment issues clearly to team members and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with:

• High School Diploma/GED or WorkKeys Assessment completion

• Approximately 2–5 years of industrial or electro-mechanical maintenance experience

• Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

• Experience troubleshooting electrical schematics

• Basic proficiency using a variety of hand and power tools

• Ability to read and work from diagrams, technical prints, specifications, wiring diagrams, and verbal instructions

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Knowledge of workplace safety and quality requirements

• Ability and willingness to work any shift and overtime as required

• U.S. work authorization and ability to meet applicable ITAR requirements

Candidates must also be able to successfully complete training provided after recruitment, including:

• Health & Safety

• General Aircraft Familiarization

• Quality Training

Preferred Qualifications

You'll stand out if you have:

• Experience with industrial or automation maintenance

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting or maintaining CNC or PLC systems

• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and/or Fanuc systems

• Experience maintaining automated manufacturing equipment or gantry systems

• Vocational or technical school training in equipment maintenance, industrial maintenance, electro-mechanical systems, or a related discipline

• Previous employer-provided training in equipment maintenance practices and techniques

• Experience using computerized maintenance systems

• Working knowledge of SAP and Excel
