PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to find an experienced Manufacturing Engineer  ready to take ownership of the aircraft build process and provide real-time technical solutions on the production floor.

Your Impact

As a Manufacturing Engineer , you'll serve as a key integrator between aircraft design and production. You'll help define how the aircraft is assembled, transforming engineering requirements into practical build plans, manufacturing processes, tooling requirements, and clear work instructions.

You'll partner closely with engineering, production, quality, and other cross-functional teams while providing hands-on technical support to resolve build issues and nonconformances in real time.

Your work will help ensure each aircraft is built as designed, delivered on schedule, and ready to meet mission needs.

What You'll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Review and interpret aircraft design requirements for manufacturability and translate them into clear, executable manufacturing work instructions.
  
• Partner with Design Engineering, Production, Tool Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality to establish effective build processes.
  
• Incorporate engineering and drawing changes into manufacturing processes and documentation.
  
• Develop, release, maintain, and revise Manufacturing Engineering documentation, including:
  
  
  
  • Work instructions
    
  • Visual aids
    
  • Bills of Material
    
  • Process documentation
    
  
  
  
• Identify and define manufacturing processes and specialty tooling that improve production efficiency, product quality, and operator ergonomics.
  
• Provide hands-on technical liaison support to production teams to troubleshoot and resolve build, tooling, and process-related issues.
  
• Help resolve manufacturing nonconformances in real time to keep production moving.
  
• Develop and deliver process training to production and support personnel to encourage consistent execution of manufacturing methods.
  
• Support site safety initiatives related to manufacturing processes, tooling, and work instructions.
  
• Communicate effectively with multiple levels of leadership as well as customers and suppliers.
  

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this Manufacturing Engineer opportunity, you should have:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment; OR
  
• Master's degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of experience; OR
  
• PhD with 0 years of experience
  
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and/or electrical symbols
  
• Experience reading and interpreting detail, assembly, and installation drawings
  
• Hands-on experience working in a production assembly environment
  
• Ability to work any shift or an extended workweek as business needs require
  
• Ability to work at a computer or similar workstation for up to 10 hours during a shift
  
• Ability to occasionally stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  
• Ability to navigate a manufacturing environment involving tooling, stands, ladders, steps, and production equipment
  
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
  

Preferred Qualifications

You'll stand out if you bring:

• Background in aircraft wire harness fabrication, cable installation, avionics, power distribution systems, and/or electrical system testing and troubleshooting
  
• Strong electrical experience combined with solid manufacturing process knowledge
  
• Engineering degree in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  
• Experience using NX or similar CAD software
  
• Experience with SAP and MES, or similar manufacturing systems
  
• Understanding of Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and techniques
  
• Experience using RCCA tools such as:
  
  
  
  • Five Why
    
  • Pareto analysis
    
  • Fishbone diagrams
    
  
  
  
• Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specifications
