Advance Next-Generation Aerospace Propulsion as a Sr Advanced Systems Engineer!

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced  Sr. Advanced Systems Engineer to support commercial and military aerospace engine programs. This role requires hands-on expertise performing steady-state and/or transient Performance & Operability analysis, with a strong focus on developing, debugging, and refining NPSS thermodynamic engine models.

This position is specifically seeking engineers who have personally performed gas turbine thermodynamic modeling and analysis as a Performance or Operability Engineer.

Must-Have Skills

• 4+ years of hands-on gas turbine Performance & Operability modeling and analysis
  
• Expertise in steady-state and/or transient thermodynamic cycle analysis
  
• Strong experience building, debugging, and refining NPSS engine cycle models
  
• Requirements analysis and decomposition experience
  
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
  
• Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop accurate system models
  

Important: Experience simply providing inputs to Performance/Operability engineers or using their analysis outputs does not meet the requirement.

What You'll Do

• Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady-state and transient NPSS models.
  
• Develop NPSS customer models.
  
• Perform requirements analysis and decomposition.
  
• Support engine development and qualification through test coverage and data reduction.
  
• Support engine definition throughout the New Product Introduction lifecycle.
  
• Collaborate across systems, controls, mechanical, test, and other engineering disciplines.
  
• Mentor engineers and share NPSS modeling techniques.
  
• Prepare technical reports and present results to customers, peers, and leadership.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  
• 4+ years of turbine engine Performance & Operability modeling and analysis.
  
• Strong NPSS modeling expertise.
  
• Solid understanding of gas turbine steady-state and transient thermodynamics.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating NPSS with MBSE tools such as Cameo.
  
• Engine development and qualification experience.
  
• Test data reduction and analysis experience.
  
• Experience mentoring others in NPSS modeling.
  
• Strong technical writing and customer presentation skills.
  
• Proven ability to independently solve complex propulsion engineering challenges.
