PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire an experienced Drafter to join a dynamic CAD Modeling and Drafting team in Elkton, Maryland.

This is an exciting opportunity to put your technical expertise to work creating detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D CAD models for products, tooling, testing components, and assemblies. Your precision and attention to detail will help translate engineering concepts into production-ready designs that support quality, manufacturing, and successful project execution.

What You'll Do

As a Drafter, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Plan, lay out, create, and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings.
  
• Develop drawings using basic layouts, established references, standard engineering data, and technical requirements.
  
• Create and modify 2D CAD drawings and 3D CAD models for products, tooling, testing components, and assemblies.
  
• Utilize Siemens NX computer-aided design tools to develop accurate engineering documentation.
  
• Complete details of major layout drawings prepared by others while following established engineering drafting practices.
  
• Determine appropriate drawing scales and incorporate reference planes, centerlines, dimension lines, hidden-line interpretations, and section views.
  
• Prepare specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations.
  
• Produce complete and accurate production detail drawings.
  
• Support drafting requirements involving structures, devices, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or electronics.
  
• Contribute design modifications that improve product quality and help facilitate manufacturing operations.
  
• Work alongside engineering, manufacturing, and technical teams to ensure drawings and models meet project requirements.
  

Required Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who bring:

• Minimum of 5 years of CAD drafting and modeling experience
  
• Strong experience creating and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  
• Demonstrated ability to develop accurate 2D drawings and 3D models
  
• Ability to work within established engineering drafting practices and standards
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  

Preferred Qualifications

You'll stand out if you have:

• Experience with Siemens NX
  
• Experience applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  
• Knowledge and application of ASME standards
  
• Previous experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, tooling, or testing environments
