As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in the planning, design, analysis, integration, and production support of advanced aircraft products and services. You’ll work at the intersection of electrical systems, aircraft interiors, avionics, and engineering innovation—helping deliver solutions that meet demanding customer, quality, cost, certification, and schedule requirements.

What You’ll Do 

As part of the engineering team, your responsibilities will include: 

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and support important electrical engineering projects. 

• Design and develop new and derivative aircraft interior furnishings and amenities for new, custom, and in-service aircraft. 

• Develop and review system-level wire diagrams and schematics for aircraft electrical systems. 

• Support electrical system integration involving aircraft avionics, lighting, and audio/video entertainment systems. 

• Perform Electrical Load Analysis (ELA) at the system level. 

• Develop, interpret, and validate technical and test specifications. 

• Apply aircraft electrical design standards and accepted engineering methods to meet manufacturing, quality, customer, and schedule requirements. 

• Utilize engineering design tools such as Capital Harness (CHS/XC), AutoCAD, CATIA V5, or comparable 2D electrical design software. 

• Apply knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 Subpart H / EWIS requirements to aircraft electrical design. 

• Provide specialized technical assistance and guidance to fellow team members. 

• Develop technical solutions to complex engineering problems using advanced engineering principles and techniques. 

• Make technical decisions and provide recommendations while demonstrating engineering leadership. 

• Act as a technical liaison with representatives outside the assigned engineering group. 

• Work independently to identify improved methods for optimizing technical performance, cost, and schedule. 

• Develop standards and engineering guides supporting diverse technical activities. 

• Support continuous improvement efforts and ensure engineering work meets customer requirements. 

• Maintain current knowledge of developments in aircraft electrical systems and related engineering disciplines to identify opportunities for innovation. 

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. 

• 5 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 10 years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines, with a Bachelor’s degree. 

• Strong technical background in electrical design and engineering. 

• Experience with aircraft electrical system design, analysis, integration, or related aerospace engineering activities. 

• Proficiency with system-level aircraft wiring diagrams and schematics. 

• Experience using electrical design tools such as Capital Harness (CHS/XC), AutoCAD, or similar 2D electrical design software. 

• Ability to perform system-level Electrical Load Analysis (ELA). 

• Ability to interpret and develop technical and test specifications. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical decision-making skills. 

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while meeting overall project objectives. 

• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and functional organizations. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Advanced degree in an engineering-related field. 

• Experience with aircraft avionics, lighting, and audio/video entertainment system integration. 

• Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 Subpart H — EWIS design requirements. 

• Experience with CATIA V5. 

• Experience supporting Part 25 certification of cabin interiors. 

• Familiarity with aircraft STC procedures. 

• Experience designing aircraft interiors, furnishings, amenities, or cabin systems. 

• Experience establishing engineering standards and design guides. 

• Demonstrated ability to independently optimize technical solutions while balancing cost, schedule, manufacturing, and quality requirements. 

• Experience providing technical leadership and recommendations on complex engineering projects.
