PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to find an experienced Electrical Engineering – Design Verification Engineer ready to make an impact on the next generation of aerospace technology.

In this highly technical role, you'll join a growing Avionics FPGA/ASIC organization developing high-performance, safety-critical digital hardware for advanced Displays, Computing, and Networking solutions.

Your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring complex ASIC, FPGA, and SoPC designs meet rigorous performance, quality, and aviation certification standards. Working alongside digital designers, systems engineers, and certification teams, you'll drive requirements-based and coverage-driven verification from initial concept through integration and DO-254 DAL A certification.

What You'll Do

As a Design Verification Engineer, you'll take ownership of critical verification activities while collaborating across engineering disciplines. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Develop comprehensive verification plans based on requirements capture, decomposition, and traceability.
  
• Architect and implement advanced constrained-random and directed verification environments using UVM/SystemVerilog.
  
• Create and maintain reusable verification components, testbenches, sequences, and functional coverage models.
  
• Perform ASIC, FPGA, and SoPC verification through simulation, inspection, analysis, and hardware testing.
  
• Conduct functional, code, and assertion coverage analysis and drive closure against verification objectives.
  
• Apply industry best practices such as linting, CDC analysis, LEC, assertions, and regression automation.
  
• Partner with design teams to review architecture, interface specifications, and RTL implementation for testability and completeness.
  
• Generate DO-254 DAL A verification artifacts and support certification activities for Airborne Electronic Hardware.
  
• Participate in technical peer reviews and FAA SOI audits.
  
• Contribute to engineering bids and support RFIs/RFPs, including verification scope and effort estimates.
  
• Communicate effectively with engineering, program management, and customer teams.
  
• Mentor junior verification engineers and recommend workflow and tool improvements.
  
• Support project engineering responsibilities as needed.
  

Required Qualifications

We're looking for an accomplished engineer who can bring both technical depth and collaborative leadership to the team.

You must have:

• A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with typically 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
  
• Experience developing testbenches and verification environments using SystemVerilog, VHDL, and/or Verilog.
  
• Hands-on experience with verification and simulation tools such as QuestaSim, Vivado, Libero, and/or Synplify Pro.
  
• Understanding of common digital interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, I2C, ARINC 429, and CAN.
  
• Experience verifying timing behavior, device-level timing constraints, and clock domain crossings (CDC).
  
• Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Perl, Linux shell, C, or C++.
  
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within globally distributed, cross-functional engineering teams.
  

Preferred Qualifications

You'll stand out if you also bring:

• Strong experience with UVM and constrained-random verification methodologies.
  
• Knowledge of DO-254 processes and verification-related design assurance activities.
  
• Familiarity with chip-level verification practices, including functional coverage, code coverage, assertions, and Logical Equivalence Checking (LEC).
  
• Experience with video and/or networking technologies.
  
• Demonstrated ability to manage cost, schedule, and performance for verification activities.
  
• Basic risk management experience, including risk identification, quantification, and mitigation planning.
