The Role 

As a Systems Installer – Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for preparing, installing, assembling, securing, and inspecting mechanical components and aircraft systems. Your work will help ensure aircraft components and systems meet rigorous engineering, quality, and safety requirements. 

You’ll work at the station, workplace, or aircraft parking area and specialize in a key installation area based on your experience. 

What You’ll Do 

• Prepare mechanical components and parts for installation. 

• Mark, prepare, assemble, adapt, torque, and secure mechanical components. 

• Install and manufacture mechanical components in accordance with drawings, specifications, orders, and applicable GTIs. 

• Inspect bonding to ensure compliance with required standards. 

• Perform system function checks and verify proper operation. 

• Specialize in one or more of the following areas: 

• VTP and HTP installation 

• Hydraulic line installation 

• Belly fairing and flap installation 

• Air conditioning and fuel system installation 

• MLG & tank testing 

• Gauging testing 

• Perform additional mechanical installation and production tasks as needed. 

• Maintain a strong focus on quality, precision, safety, and production requirements. 

Your Boarding Pass: Qualifications 

Required: 

• 2+ years of experience in aviation production or an equivalent field. 

• High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 

• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. 

Preferred: 

• Experience installing aircraft systems or structural/mechanical components. 

• Hands-on experience with hydraulic, fuel, air conditioning, flight-control, or landing-gear systems. 

• Experience with aircraft testing, gauging, bonding inspection, or torque/fastening procedures. 

• Familiarity with aerospace production standards and documentation.
