PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to seek an experienced Avionics Software Engineer for an exciting opportunity in Fort Worth, TX.

In this role, you'll help develop, modify, test, and document embedded software requirements for military aircraft upgrade programs. Your expertise will support the integration of sophisticated avionics capabilities, helping ensure software systems meet critical performance, customer, and mission requirements.

What You'll Do

As an Avionics Software Engineer, you will:

• Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate embedded software within avionics systems.
  
• Develop, modify, test, and document embedded software environment requirements for military upgrade programs.
  
• Translate system-level requirements into software requirements and associated verification tests.
  
• Manage and communicate software requirements with internal and external customers.
  
• Plan, support, and manage software integration activities to meet customer and program requirements.
  
• Collaborate across engineering and functional disciplines to ensure compliance with critical system performance parameters.
  
• Support requirements development, software verification, preliminary design, and detailed design activities.
  
• Identify and recommend design enhancements and future capability improvements to strengthen integrated weapon system performance.
  
• Build productive working relationships with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, and other program stakeholders.
  
• Support traceability between software requirements and test procedures.
  

Required Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with:

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
  
• Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including the ability to break system requirements into software requirements and corresponding tests.
  
• Experience with static and dynamic software test tools.
  
• Working knowledge of multiple software development languages.
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple organizations and engineering disciplines.
  
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal teams, and external suppliers.
  
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  
• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
  

Preferred Qualifications

Your background will stand out if you also have:

• Experience with C, C++, and/or C#.
  
• Knowledge of static and dynamic testing tools such as PC-Lint, LDRA Testbed, and VectorCAST.
  
• Experience using DOORS, including linking software requirements to test procedures and maintaining requirements traceability.
  
• Familiarity with military aerospace design and certification processes.
  
• Experience with requirements development and verification.
  
• Experience supporting preliminary and detailed software or avionics system design.
  
• Previous experience integrating embedded software into complex avionics or aerospace systems.
  
• Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams on military aviation programs.
