Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Quality Inspector 2's for a contract opportunity in Oxnard, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role. o Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools. o Blueprints. o Dimensional Inspection. o Mechanical Assemblies. o Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES o As a member of the Quality department, you'll get to support repair and manufacturing programs by ensuring products conform to engineering drawings, QMS requirements, and contractual specifications. o Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products. o Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional, etc.) on spacecraft components. o Uses various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machine. o This job has decision-making responsibilities with regards to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed. o Inspects and performs tests on mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress. o Support Production Teams: Interface with manufacturing operations and engineering personnel to improve processes and documentation issues. o Document Non-conformances: Identify, document, and track non-conforming material, and assist in identifying root causes. o Perform Receiving Inspection: Inspect incoming purchased parts and materials against vendor certifications and engineering requirements. o Maintain Records: Maintain detailed inspection records, logs, and reports o Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems. o Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Strong Computer skills o Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results o Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads. o Experience in inspection of aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies. o Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 and other related specifications o Ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteria o Understanding of GD&T
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent/GED is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS: 9/80 workweek. This is a second shift position 2:30pm to midnight
