Lead Advanced Electrical Design for the Future of Flight as a Sr Electrical Engineer!

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly experienced Sr Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical design and power electronics efforts supporting next-generation electric aircraft and eVTOL technologies. This senior technical role will focus on requirements, circuit design, electrical analysis, EMI, PBA development, and technical leadership.

The ideal candidate brings deep aerospace electrical engineering expertise and can independently drive designs from requirements through analysis, PDR, integration, and testing.

What You'll Do

• Review and manage technical requirements using DOORS NG and IBM ELM.
  
• Design electrical systems, schematics, PBAs, filters, and high-power electronics.
  
• Perform:
  
  
  
  • Power analysis
    
  • Filter analysis
    
  • Electrical circuit analysis
    
  • Circuit simulation and trade studies
    
  
  
  
• Develop EMI filters and support DO-160 lightning/environmental requirements.
  
• Generate PBA Bills of Materials and support component selection.
  
• Troubleshoot circuit card test failures and perform fault isolation.
  
• Support layout design and electrical integration activities.
  
• Develop and present Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs).
  
• Document investigations, test results, and engineering findings.
  
• Mentor junior engineers in electrical analysis and design techniques.
  
• Lead technical projects while collaborating across engineering disciplines.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or equivalent.
  
• Typically 12+ years of circuit design, integration, and test experience.
  
• Extensive experience with:
  
  
  
  • Electrical circuit design and analysis
    
  • Schematic development
    
  • PBA/PCB design
    
  • Power electronics
    
  • EMI/filter design
    
  
  
  
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and fault-isolation capabilities.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace electrical or power electronics experience.
  
• High-power inverter design experience.
  
• Requirements management experience with DOORS NG / ELM.
  
• Experience with tools such as:

  • MATLAB

  • PSIM
    
  
  
  
• Strong analog circuit design background.
  
• Experience with electronic component obsolescence and board-level redesign.
  
• Familiarity with aerospace standards such as DO-160, DO-254, and DO-178B.
  
• Experience developing technical white papers and documenting trade studies.
  
• Proven ability to mentor and technically lead engineering teams.
