Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electronic Technician 3 for a contract opportunity in San Diego, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o 4 years of related experience or electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school or military technical school. o Experience troubleshooting analog and digital circuits. o Able to read drawings / wiring diagrams, previous government experience, experience with ESD (electrostatic discharge) and FOD (foreign object damage) control. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment. o Avionics Troubleshooting. o Blueprint Reading. o Component-Level Troubleshooting. o Digital Multimeters. o Electrical Schematics. o Electrical Testing. o Oscilloscopes. o Test Equipment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Looking for an Electronic Technician 3 to support our Avionics Development Center. As a member of the Avionics Development Center, you'll get to support critical fabrication and testing efforts in both a production and development environment.
Responsibilities: Assemble, install, test, and maintain electronic systems, components, and equipment. Diagnose and repair circuit boards, wiring, and other electronic components. Perform operational tests at environmental stress screening, vibration, and thermal levels to ensure compliance with design specifications. Identify and isolate malfunctions down to the component level. Conduct defined engineering tests and collect assigned data. Document test results, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately. Perform diagnostics and root cause analysis using oscilloscopes, multimeters, RF generators, and spectrum analyzers. Maintain compliance with all NGC CAT 2 Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) safety, quality, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Familiarity with RF systems, digital/analog circuits, or embedded electronics. o Experience with Component-level troubleshooting. o Experience with VOM, DVM, and similar test apparatus. o IPC-A-610 Class III Surface Mount. o Ability to read and interpret production specifications, production diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications (English) o Able to read drawings / wiring diagrams o Cable Assembly o Cable Harness Assembly o Electrical Soldering o Micro-Soldering o Solder Certified o Circuit Card Assemblies o Current certification to IPC WHMA-A-620, NASA-J-STD; or other certifications in electronics assembly and workmanship. o Root Cause Analysis (RCA) o Wire Harness Assembly
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Associates Degree or technical trade school or military technical school is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS: 4/10 workweek. This position will serve on-site at our facility in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
