PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation and aerospace industry to hire an Engineer CAD/CAM 2 in Chandler, Arizona.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-driven engineering professional who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality. You'll support the Mechanical and Energetics department, creating and reviewing sophisticated design packages while ensuring critical aerospace components meet demanding industry, military, and ASME standards.

Your expertise in Siemens NX 2412, Teamcenter, GD&T, parametric modeling, and mechanical drawings will help transform engineering concepts into designs that are manufacturable, accurate, and ready for production.

What You'll Do

As an Engineer CAD/CAM 2, you will:

• Create comprehensive mechanical drawing and design packages in compliance with applicable industry, military, and ASME standards.

• Develop fully defined 3D components and assemblies using Siemens NX 2412 managed through Teamcenter.

• Create and revise parametric drawings in accordance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards.

• Review mechanical designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and cost-effective fabrication.

• Perform drawing reviews to verify dimensions, materials, quantities, and overall design accuracy.

• Review tolerance analyses and ensure appropriate hardware selection and fitment on assembly drawings.

• Apply your knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drawings and help resolve interpretation issues.

• Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing for accuracy and compliance.

• Work closely with multiple engineering disciplines as well as Manufacturing and Quality teams.

• Interface with vendors when technical coordination or clarification is required.

• Complete assignments accurately while managing demanding schedules and competing priorities.

• Provide supervision or direction to staff when requested.

• Perform additional engineering and design-related responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience creating and reviewing mechanical engineering drawings and design packages.

• Experience with mechanical and parametric 3D modeling.

• Working knowledge of Siemens NX, with the ability to support work in NX 2412.

• Experience working within a Teamcenter-managed environment.

• Strong knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret and resolve drawing-related issues.

• Knowledge of applicable ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards.

• Ability to evaluate designs for fit, function, tolerances, manufacturability, and fabrication requirements.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

• Ability to produce accurate work while operating under schedule pressure.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendor teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace, aviation, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.

• Advanced hands-on experience with Siemens NX 2412 and Teamcenter.

• Strong experience developing fully defined components and assemblies.

• Demonstrated expertise with GD&T and tolerance analysis.

• Experience reviewing hardware selection and fitment on assembly drawings.

• Familiarity with military and aerospace drawing requirements and standards.

• Experience supporting designs throughout the transition from engineering to manufacturing.

• Previous experience partnering directly with Manufacturing, Quality, and external vendors.

• Experience leading, supervising, or providing technical direction to other team members.
