Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time, 6-Month Contract
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, general office hours
Pay Rate:$61.87 per hour
What You'll Do
As a Systems Engineer, you'll support the development and testing of sophisticated cockpit avionics systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Perform systems design, requirements development, validation, and verification activities for MH-60M and MH-47G cockpit avionics.
Execute requirements-based, robustness, and ad hoc testing in an on-site laboratory environment.
Support formal test phases, with schedule flexibility as testing requirements evolve.
Collaborate with external customer stakeholders and internal software, hardware, and systems engineering teams supporting different Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) builds.
Use engineering and project tools including TNT, DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft tools, SVN, and other systems.
Investigate laboratory hardware and test environments to identify and resolve integration challenges.
Support integration investigations involving interfaces between aerospace equipment and government-furnished equipment.
Work across disciplines to help ensure systems and interfaces meet defined requirements and performance expectations.
Required Qualifications
We're looking for a Systems Engineer with the technical foundation and problem-solving skills to succeed in a complex avionics environment.
Required qualifications include:
Relevant professional Systems Engineering experience.
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or a related discipline.
Working knowledge and understanding of data buses and communication protocols, including:
Ethernet
MIL-STD-1553B
ARINC-429
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional software, hardware, systems, and customer teams.
Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in an on-site lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications
You may stand out if you bring:
Previous military avionics experience.
Experience with TNT.
Experience with DOORS.
Experience with PREP.
Experience using JIRA.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Previous experience with avionics integration, verification, validation, or requirements-based testing.

Pay Details: $61.87 per hour
