PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to partner with a leader in the steel manufacturing industry. The IT Operations System Administrator will provide support for the IT team as a key member of the technical infrastructure planning and support, provide senior level technical experience, guide day-to-day activities, and ensure work and projects are progressing in a timely and effective manner.

This role will also work closely with Shared Services to align local business needs with enterprise technology capabilities, standards, and support models.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Managing virtual local or cloud platforms such as VMWare environments and/or Azure Computing, including storage and networking

• Windows server administration

• Lead security and system patching and drive security culture

• Active Directory, Certificates, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Entra ID, MS365 administration

• Data backup, testing, and recovery

• Translating business needs into technical solutions and keeping leadership informed about risks, progress, and resource needs

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and Operations, including configuring and managing server environments

• Demonstratable experience leading medium to large projects individually or with other team members

• 3+ years experience with VMware design and administration

• 5+ experience with Veeam or other backup systems

• 5+ years with security patching operating systems and infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and Operations

• Managing virtual cloud platforms such as VMWare Environments, VMware Cloud Foundations (VCF) and/or Azure Computing, including storage, network, and container applications

• Manufacturing-related IT experience with OT environments and systems

• Linux administration experience

• SQL Server and Oracle database management or knowledge

• Scripting experience, including but not limited to PowerShell and bash script

• Experience with data center design including environmental control requirements
