Embedded Software Engineer – Avionics Electrical
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina, USA (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-time Contract
Experience Level: 7+ Years
Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000 / Year + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

* Engineering Modifications: Support aircraft alterations and engineering projects through robust electrical design and embedded software activities.
* Tool Development: Design, maintain, and scale aircraft data management and diagnostic test tools.
* Data Management: Generate and sustain aircraft configuration data (CMF) alongside related engineering datasets.
* Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex aircraft system anomalies using target data analysis and in-depth avionics knowledge.
* Root Cause Analysis: Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations for system and component failures.
* System Upgrades: Develop technical upgrade initiatives driven by engineering performance metrics and operational findings.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams and external suppliers to resolve technical roadblocks swiftly.

Required Qualifications

* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
* Experience: Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience focusing on embedded systems, avionics, or aircraft electrical systems.
* Core Skills: Heavy programming proficiency with a proven track record in software testing, execution, and hardware-level debugging.
* Problem Solving: Strong analytical capabilities to unpack and isolate complex technical failures.

Preferred Technical Skills

* Languages & Systems: C/C++ programming within a Linux development environment.
* Engineering Tools: MATLAB, firmware programming, and automated diagnostic tool development.
* Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of avionics infrastructure, aircraft modification processes, and full SDLC frameworks.
* Configuration & Version Control: Hands-on experience using Git, SVN, or TFS to manage engineering data.
