Chipton-Ross is seeking a HVAC Mechanic 3 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o High School Diploma or equivalent, with 4 years of experience in HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, plumbing, and mechanical systems. o Must own Basic HVAC Tools. o Must possess a Universal EPA License 608 and an Active California Driver's License. o Ability to work 9/80A Schedule.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: seeking an HVAC Mechanic Level 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals! This position will be on site supporting our South Bay California Facilities in El Segundo, CA.
This hands-on position requires knowledge and experience in repairs and maintenance of facilities and/or machines and equipment. The role is fully on-site; hybrid or remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities: o Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment (AHUs, Chillers, Cooling Towers, VAVs, Heaters, Boilers, Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Coolers, Freezers). o Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine necessary repair and maintenance work to prevent breakdowns. o Use hand and power tools to troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair machines and equipment. o Review and follow blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. o Install, service, modify, rebuild, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations. o Monitor and maintain centralized HVAC building automation systems, including pneumatic systems and direct digital control o Document and maintain records for the Maintenance Department, including preventive maintenance activities and service reports. o Be physically capable of working in high places from ladders, able to lift over 50 lbs, and follow exacting written and verbal instructions. o Work on an on-call basis and handle responsibilities assigned by management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Written and Verbal Communication Skills o Strong Interpersonal Skills. o Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance. o Strong commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience. o Experience in Aerospace/Defense Industry. o Strong computer, math, analytical, and planning skills. o Experience with building maintenance management and tracking systems (work orders, Computer-Aided Facilities Management, Maximo). o Knowledge of building automation control systems and troubleshooting I/O. o Good communication skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook o Experience working on HVAC equipment in a manufacturing environment that serves production machines.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent/GED is required. School must be accredited.
HOURS: 9/80A workweek. 100% on-site at El Segundo, CA facility.
