HSE Engineer

Make a Direct Impact on Safety, Health, and Environmental Performance as a HSE Engineer for our client Honeywell.

This is a contract to hire position.

Hourly rate: $40 - $50 an hour.

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer II to support a major LNG manufacturing facility. This highly visible field-based role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing workplace risks, and supporting production teams in maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Approximately 80% of your time will be spent on the manufacturing floor, making this an ideal opportunity for an HSE professional who enjoys hands-on engagement with employees, operations, and leadership.


What You'll Do

Health, Safety & Environmental Leadership

  • Provide daily HSE support across production and warehouse operations.

  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, observations, and shop-floor walkthroughs.

  • Promote a culture of safety through coaching, training, and employee engagement.

  • Apply and reinforce Stop Work Authority when necessary.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety evaluations.

  • Develop, review, and maintain:

    • Safe Work Procedures

    • Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)

    • HSE documentation and compliance records

  • Track corrective actions through the HSE Management System.

Training & Employee Development

  • Deliver HSE onboarding and ongoing employee training.

  • Coach employees and supervisors on safety best practices.

  • Participate in shift startup and production meetings to reinforce safety expectations.

  • Encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.

Incident Investigation & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and support incident investigations.

  • Identify root causes and develop corrective actions.

  • Track findings through closure and support continuous improvement efforts.

  • Monitor trends and recommend proactive safety enhancements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with production, warehouse, engineering, management, and support teams.

  • Communicate safety requirements and compliance expectations effectively.

  • Support operational goals while maintaining rigorous safety standards.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HSE experience, with a strong focus on industrial safety.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • OSHA requirements

    • Industrial safety practices

    • Environmental compliance standards

  • Experience conducting:

    • Safety audits

    • Risk assessments

    • Incident investigations

    • Corrective action processes

  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with production teams.

  • Strong communication and employee coaching skills.

  • Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in:

    • Occupational Health & Safety

    • Environmental Science

    • Related field

OR

  • Equivalent experience

  • OSHA 30 Certification (or currently pursuing certification).

  • Experience supporting:

    • Manufacturing facilities

    • Mechanical construction environments

    • Welding operations

    • Industrial production operations

  • Experience delivering safety training programs.

  • Strong commitment to employee engagement and safety culture development.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
