  • Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Contract)
  • Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
  • Schedule: 4/10 Work Week | Monday-Thursday | First Shift
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel up to 3 weeks per assignment

As an Electronics Technician, you'll play a critical role in the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced underwater mission systems. Your expertise will help ensure mission-critical equipment performs reliably in demanding environments. Working alongside engineering, quality, and supply chain professionals, you'll contribute to both prototype development and production programs that support innovative technologies and operational success.





What You'll Do



In this hands-on role, you will:




  • Perform precision hand soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs), cable connectors, and electronic assemblies.
  • Assemble, crimp, terminate, and fabricate wire harnesses according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct visual and electrical inspections, including continuity and insulation resistance testing.
  • Interpret engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and bills of material (BOMs).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rework electronic assemblies and systems.
  • Document corrective actions, repair activities, and test results.
  • Work within clean room and ESD-controlled environments while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
  • Support prototype builds, low-rate production efforts, and field service operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
  • Travel to customer locations and field sites to perform equipment setup, repairs, troubleshooting, and technical support.
  • Complete final cable assembly processes, including molding and potting compound injection to create watertight cable barriers.
  • Utilize troubleshooting tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, continuity testers, and related electronic test equipment.




Required Qualifications




  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field; or equivalent military or industry training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on electronics assembly experience.
  • Proven expertise in:

    • Soldering (surface mount, through-hole, and BGA components)
    • Wire harness fabrication and assembly
    • Crimping and cable termination
    • Electronic troubleshooting and repair


  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency using multimeters and other electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended assignments.
  • Eligibility for a Secret Clearance and ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance if required.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 30 pounds for extended periods.




Preferred Qualifications




  • J-STD-001 Certification (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies).
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification (Requirements for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).
  • OSHA Safety Certification.
  • Experience using:

    • Oscilloscopes
    • Continuity testers
    • Reflow ovens
    • Hot air stations
    • Wire stripping equipment


  • Fiber optic experience, including:

    • Fiber terminations (LC, SC, MPO)
    • Fiber splicing
    • OTDR testing
    • Fiber power meter operation


  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, marine, or mission-critical systems.

Pay Details: $22.50 to $25.00 per hour
