Job Summary
• Develop, architect, and test PLC programs for new and existing equipment.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
• Define controls system requirements and develop functional specifications.
• Maintain and modify existing LabVIEW systems.
• Lead system implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and software controls.
• Work independently while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect, develop, and test structured PLC programs using Honeywell best practices.
• Develop control software for new and existing equipment.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to junior engineers.
• Define controls system requirements and create detailed functional specifications.
• Maintain and modify LabVIEW applications based on customer requirements.
• Lead implementation and testing of new control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC code, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and equipment issues.
• Work directly with internal engineering and technical teams to implement solutions.
• Respond quickly to customer needs while maintaining quality and data integrity.
Required Qualifications
• BS/MS degree in:
o Mechanical Engineering
o Electrical Engineering
o Automation Engineering
o Control Systems Engineering
o Computer Engineering
o Related engineering field
• U.S. Citizenship required due to contractual requirements.
• 6+ years of PLC programming experience with multiple hardware platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to write PLC programs from scratch.
• Experience with function blocks or Add-On Instructions.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical control systems.
• 6+ years of experience with LabVIEW, VeriStand, Python, and .NET.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Emerson, Allen-Bradley, and Phoenix Contact PLC platforms.
• Git or Teamcenter experience.
• SQL/database experience.
• Experience with DAQs, sensors, oscilloscopes, multimeters, pressure scanners, DEWEsoft, and related test equipment.
• Strong customer communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong safety and data-quality mindset.
• Experience supporting customers with rapid, high-quality technical solutions.
