PDS Tech Commercial is seeking experienced Assembly Mechanics to join our team in partnership with a leader in the aviation industry. In this role, you'll play a critical part in assembling, installing, inspecting, and testing aircraft fuselage components and structural systems. Your expertise will directly impact the quality, safety, and performance of advanced aircraft programs.
Schedule: Must be available to work any assigned shift, including weekends, based on business needs
What You'll Do
As an Assembly Mechanic, you'll work with precision, technical expertise, and attention to detail to ensure aircraft components meet exacting quality and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete structural and system components using engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Perform functional testing and troubleshoot assemblies to ensure proper fit, form, and function.
Interpret blueprints, charts, sketches, technical documents, and electronic work instructions.
Use precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics to verify quality and dimensional accuracy.
Utilize specialized tooling and fastening equipment to build subassemblies and final aircraft structures.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements.
Identify, document, and communicate discrepancies according to established procedures.
Verify equipment and tooling certifications and maintain compliance standards.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and production equipment.
Move materials and products within manufacturing areas using assigned equipment.
Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Support manufacturing flow by assisting and training team members.
Cross-train in inspection activities and work toward SIA qualification.
Set up and operate conventional and CNC fastening equipment with less than simultaneous 3-axis movement.
Apply specialized assembly techniques within aircraft structural manufacturing.

Required Qualifications
5-10 years of aircraft assembly, aerospace manufacturing, structural assembly, or related mechanical experience.
Experience working on aircraft structures, tags, shear webs, or similar aerospace components.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Proficiency using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Strong understanding of assembly processes, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
Ability to stand and work for the entire shift.
Willingness to work any assigned shift, including overtime and weekends as required.
Ability to successfully pass a mechanical plate test.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in commercial or military aerospace manufacturing.
Experience with fuselage assembly operations.
CNC fastening equipment experience.
SIA qualification or inspection experience.
Background in pressure testing, vacuum testing, fuel cell sealing, or precision bench assembly.
Experience mentoring or training fellow mechanics.

Pay Details: $57.00 to $59.00 per hour
