PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an experienced Quality Inspector who is ready to play a critical role in ensuring aircraft, components, and systems meet the highest standards for safety, quality, and airworthiness.

About the Role 

As a Quality Inspector A, you will perform comprehensive inspections throughout the aerospace production, maintenance, repair, and overhaul process. From incoming materials and aircraft structures to electrical systems, components, and final assemblies, you'll ensure products conform to approved engineering data, company standards, and applicable FAA and EASA regulations. 

Your expertise will help identify defects, prevent non-conforming materials from entering production, validate airworthiness, and ensure aircraft and components are properly documented and ready for service. 

This is a 100% onsite position, with approximately 15% domestic and international travel required. 

What You'll Do 

Inspection — 60% 

• Perform technical inspections to accept or reject incoming materials, airframes, aircraft components, and assemblies. 

• Identify, document, and report suspected unapproved parts. 

• Conduct preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, final, dimensional, functional, and operational inspections. 

• Inspect components throughout electrical, manufacturing, composites, MRO, and paint operations. 

• Perform dimensional inspections and acoustic tap testing on manufactured components. 

• Inspect aluminum, titanium, and steel aircraft structures for cracks, corrosion, damage, and improper assembly. 

• Verify proper shimming, joining, riveting, and structural assembly against engineering drawings and approved data. 

• Inspect aircraft wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical terminations for conformity. 

• Quarantine non-conforming components and assemblies and ensure proper identification and documentation. 

• Monitor Measuring and Test Equipment to ensure proper maintenance and current calibration. 

• Perform stock inspections and purges when potentially non-conforming or suspected unapproved materials are identified. 

• Evaluate and disposition sales returns. 

• Select and inspect product samples using appropriate measurement, testing, and comparison methods. 

• Perform conformity inspections for maintenance, repair, modification, rework, overhaul, STC development projects, and PMA parts. 

• Determine proper fit, form, and function of aircraft components and assemblies. 

• Validate parts and repaired components for conformity and serviceability in accordance with approved data. 

• Apply visual inspection and precision measurement techniques to qualify dynamic components. 

• Observe and validate functional and operational testing of aircraft radios, navigation systems, flight controls, instruments, and related systems. 

• Ensure compliance with applicable calendar/hourly inspections, life-limited and cycle-limited components, Airworthiness Directives, and service bulletins. 

• Verify testing of ELTs, transponders, altimeters, airspeed indicators, and air data computers in accordance with applicable FAA regulations. 

Documentation — 30% 

• Ensure proper tagging, identification, and airworthiness documentation for parts released to Airframe, Engines, and Accessories. 

• Verify quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, purchase orders, and procurement documentation for incoming materials. 

• Create, distribute, track, and disposition monthly Shelf Life Expiration Date (SLED) reports. 

• Create Non-Conformance Material reports and coordinate with Quality Engineers to resolve discrepancies. 

• Verify required documentation, including 8130-3 forms, EASA Forms, and Certificates of Conformance. 

• Process goods receipts for incoming materials. 

• Document maintenance actions in accordance with FAA and EASA regulations and company procedures. 

• Research Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Alert Service Bulletins for applicability. 

• Read and validate engineering drawings, reports, specifications, and test documentation. 

• Properly identify and document items placed in the quality quarantine area. 

• Prepare aircraft, engines, accessories, components, and systems for return to service following production, maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, testing, or modification. 

• Prepare required delivery documentation supporting airworthiness and return-to-service decisions. 

Quality Support & Continuous Improvement — 10% 

• Uphold a culture of integrity, teamwork, customer focus, reliability, respect, and accountability. 

• Conduct routine process audits to ensure required training, tooling, and technical data are available. 

• Review quality procedures, processes, forms, and documentation for accuracy and completeness. 

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable FAA and EASA requirements. 

• Participate in departmental meetings, company events, special projects, and team initiatives. 

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support Lean methodologies to improve quality, efficiency, and operational performance. 

Required Qualifications 

Education 

• High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Experience 

• 4 years of quality inspection experience on aircraft components and systems, OR 

• 6 years of experience as a certificated Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) working with aircraft components and systems. 

Licensure 

• A&P License required. 

Additional Requirements 

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, reports, and specifications. 

• Working knowledge of aircraft components, systems, inspection processes, and airworthiness requirements. 

• Ability to use inspection tools, measuring equipment, aids, and devices to evaluate tolerances and specifications. 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to aviation safety and quality. 

• Ability to work effectively in both office and production environments. 

• Must be willing and able to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally. 

• Ability to work onsite 100%, except when traveling for business. 

• Ability to lift and carry tools, drawings, documents, and electronic equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. 

• Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, and navigate production environments, including uneven surfaces. 

• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and protective gloves as required. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Aviation or a related field. 

• 6+ years of diversified experience with company helicopter products as a certificated AMT or Quality Inspector. 

• FAA Inspection Authorization (IA). 

• FCC 2nd Class License. 

• Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Certification. 

• Experience working with FAA and EASA regulatory requirements. 

• Experience with aircraft production, MRO, composites, electrical systems, structural inspection, or component inspection.
