Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (9-Month Assignment)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift | 6:00 AM-3:30 PM | 9/80 Schedule

Pay Rate: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting engineering and test operations through the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aircraft wiring systems, cable assemblies, and laboratory infrastructure. Your expertise will help ensure systems perform reliably, safely, and efficiently throughout the development and testing process.

What You'll Do



In this hands-on technical role, you will:




  • Fabricate interconnecting cables and wiring harnesses using engineering drawings and specifications
  • Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft industry standards
  • Perform soldering in accordance with J-STD requirements
  • Interpret and work from aircraft-level wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and assembly diagrams for fabrication projects
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain test bench and laboratory infrastructure equipment
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and test equipment to isolate and resolve wiring and system issues
  • Install and support communication interfaces, including:

    • ARINC 429
    • MIL-STD-1553
    • RS422
    • RS232
    • Ethernet
    • IEEE-488


  • Install and support fiber optic cabling for reflective memory hardware systems
  • Safely operate hand tools and shop equipment, including:

    • Wire crimpers
    • Wire strippers
    • Soldering equipment
    • Powered and non-powered hand tools


  • Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control procedures
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, and test teams to support project objectives


Required Qualifications




  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical industry experience
  • Ability to crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards
  • Ability to solder in accordance with J-STD requirements
  • Strong understanding of aircraft wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and assembly documentation
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, wiring repair, and fault isolation techniques
  • Experience with aerospace and communication interface wiring systems
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and shop equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined spaces for extended periods when required
  • Familiarity with ESD and FOD prevention practices
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

     


Preferred Qualifications




  • Associate Degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Military experience supporting aircraft systems, maintenance, or testing operations
  • Experience supporting aerospace engineering laboratories or test environments
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic experience with aircraft electrical systems
  • Experience working with fiber optic communication systems and aerospace data networks

Pay Details: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
