Summary:

Designs major components or major portions of functional systems and technically advanced prototypes.

Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations.

Investigates design factors including ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, and cost.

Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.

Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products.

Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.

Identifies design errors, omissions, and deficiencies and recommends revisions or improvements in design layout.

Leads design, procurement, assembly, test, and verification of automated test systems, including data review and trending.

Develops hardware requirements from subsystem to support equipment test systems.

Develops test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design teams, vendors, and customers.

Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and combined education.

Hardware development experience for electrical and electromechanical test systems.

Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.

Experience with interconnect design and cable design.

Experience with one or more PLM systems including Creo, Windchill, Zuken, or Pspice.

Experience with product lifecycle including development, deployment, and retirement.

Issue tracking experience for defect and discrepancy management.

3+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware design and test.
