Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift | 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Pay Rate: from $60 to $80 per hour
As a Systems Engineer, you'll be a key contributor to the design, development, integration, and verification of advanced spacecraft systems. Working across multiple engineering disciplines, you'll help transform innovative concepts into operational solutions that support critical space missions.

In this role, you will:
Collaborate across spacecraft subsystems to plan, design, develop, integrate, and verify complex space systems throughout the product lifecycle
Analyze customer and operational requirements to define system performance needs and technical specifications
Evaluate and optimize system architectures to ensure mission success and overall performance
Coordinate technical parameters and ensure compatibility across physical, functional, and program interfaces
Identify gaps in scope and work with stakeholders to align responsibilities across teams
Participate in resolving cross-functional engineering and technical issues
Support or lead technical trade studies involving performance, cost, risk, and schedule considerations
Assist with engineering governance activities, including Risk, Issue and Opportunity (RIO) Boards and Engineering Review Boards (ERB)
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements by integrating Statements of Work (SOW) and technical specifications into engineering processes
Support requirements development, allocation, traceability, and verification using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS and Cameo
Track requirements compliance activities and support customer reporting obligations
Participate in Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) evaluations and responses
Support major program milestones, including:
System Requirements Reviews (SRR)
Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR)
Critical Design Reviews (CDR)
Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
Represent Systems Engineering during manufacturing, integration, testing, and readiness reviews
Support Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T), launch activities, mission operations, and non-conformance resolution efforts as needed
Bachelor of Science degree in:
Engineering
Engineering Technology
Computer Science
Data Science
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry
Or a related technical discipline
Experience with systems engineering fundamentals and product lifecycle processes
Familiarity with key engineering reviews and development milestones, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with satellite systems design, development, integration, or testing
Experience collaborating with customers, program offices, and interdisciplinary engineering teams
Familiarity with requirements management and MBSE tools such as DOORS and Cameo
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience supporting aerospace, defense, or space programs
Typically 9+ years of related engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and technical expertise
