Machine Operator
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire a skilled Machine Operator in Kinston, NC.
Location: Kinston, NC
Pay Rate: $28.96-$30.43 per hour
As a Machine Operator, you'll play a critical role in the manufacturing process by producing high-quality aerospace parts and assemblies to exact specifications. Working with both conventional and CNC machining equipment, you'll help ensure the delivery of precision-engineered components that meet the rigorous standards of the aviation industry.
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate a variety of conventional and CNC machine tools to manufacture precision aerospace components
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications
Determine machining sequences, setups, tooling requirements, feeds, and speeds
Utilize precision measuring instruments and machinist hand tools to verify dimensional accuracy
Perform machining operations including:
Milling
Drilling
Boring
Honing
Grinding
Fastening
Deburring
Produce parts and assemblies that meet strict engineering and quality standards
Monitor and verify product quality using statistical process control and other quality methodologies
Perform routine machine maintenance, including filter replacement, coolant monitoring, lubrication checks, and other preventive maintenance tasks
Move materials and products throughout the manufacturing area using assigned equipment
Complete required production transactions to maintain workflow efficiency
Support continuous manufacturing operations by training and assisting team members
Participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
Train toward MVP qualification and complete additional responsibilities as assigned
High School Diploma, GED, or WorkKeys Assessment completion
Minimum of 3 years of machine operator experience
Strong understanding of manufacturing safety practices, OSHA regulations, and quality requirements, including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality when required
Willingness and ability to work any shift and overtime as business needs require
Ability to successfully complete company-provided training, including:
Health & Safety
General Aircraft Familiarization
Quality Training
5+ years of aviation manufacturing or production experience
Experience operating CNC 5-Axis machines
Vocational school training in machining or machine operations
Formal apprenticeship or equivalent machining training
Experience working in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
Knowledge of precision measurement and advanced machining techniques
