Summary:

Leads the development of top-level electrical and electronic system architectures for Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) platforms from initial concept through full system integration.

Performs hands-on electrical design including circuit and subsystem development for airborne platforms.

Drives data-informed decisions through comprehensive trade studies for system architecture optimization.

Defines and maintains Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and subsystem requirements to ensure compatibility and performance across the system.

Performs circuit design for SMPS electronics, high-speed communications, and common serial interfaces.

Selects components from prototype development through productization.

Guides electrical integration, testing, and validation activities for UAS system performance.

Performs PCB design including schematic capture and layout using Altium CAD tools.

Supports troubleshooting and root-cause investigations in complex airborne systems.

Applies knowledge of system safety, EMI/EMC compliance, and environmental qualification testing.

Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

7+ years of relevant professional experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments.

Demonstrated capability in architecture development for UAS or airborne platforms.

Expertise in electronics engineering including circuit design for SMPS electronics, high-speed communications, and common serial interfaces.

Experience with component selection from prototype development through productization.

Proven experience developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and defining electrical subsystem requirements.

Experience with PCB design including schematic capture and layout using CAD tools such as Altium.

Experience supporting troubleshooting and root-cause investigations in complex systems.

Preferred: Significant experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Airborne ISR, or low-cost expendable aircraft.

Preferred: Experience in production or manufacturing environments including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and manufacturing documentation.
