Principal Software Engineer

Description:
***Engineer will be able to work remotely once sufficient work experience is established. It will be a 3/2 schedule (onsite / offsite).***

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field.
• 8+ years of related engineering experience.
• Multiple years of DOORS database usage on FMS programs.
• Strong FMS systems knowledge.
• Experience with software development/programming applications or operating systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Strong technical leadership, coordination, problem-solving, and project consultation skills.

Job Summary
• Senior-level engineer supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs, with strong preference for Honeywell and/or Boeing FMS experience.
• Design, modify, develop, and implement software programming applications and operating systems.
• Provide technical leadership, coordinate work teams, and support complex engineering projects.
• Extensive DOORS database experience on FMS programs is strongly required.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, modify, and implement software applications/operating systems.
• Support and apply FMS systems knowledge across engineering projects.
• Use and manage requirements through the DOORS database, particularly for FMS programs.
• Coordinate cross-functional work teams and project activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project team members.
• Consult on complex projects and provide expert-level technical solutions.
• Apply engineering judgment and creativity to plan and accomplish project goals.

Preferred Skills
• Honeywell FMS program experience.
• Boeing FMS program experience.
• Software engineering/development experience.
• Experience coordinating technical work teams.
• Experience supporting complex aerospace/FMS projects.
