Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in Avondale, LA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 2 years of experience or a Master of Science degree in Engineering or above from an ABET accredited university and 0 years of experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will be responsible for establishing, overseeing, and managing all activities related to assigned shipboard systems. Candidate will perform the following: Research, development, and design of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in accordance with all contractual requirements, military and commercial specifications; initiate procurement specifications; review and approve vendor proposals; review, comment on, adjudicate and approve vendor furnished information for translation into construction products; interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives; support vendor design reviews and testing; develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings; interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure a seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment; address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility; support shipbuilding production department as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with 2 or more years of engineering experience. A qualified candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD. o Previous shipbuilding experience, especially with combat systems, is a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.
WORK HOURS: 5/40, workweek. 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
