PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Aircraft Machinist (Tool & Die Maker - CNC Operator) to support a world-renowned aerospace leader in San Antonio, TX. In this hands-on role, you'll help produce precision components that keep aircraft mission-ready, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Location: San Antonio, TX

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with availability to work rotating 1st and 2nd shifts based on business needs

Pay Rate: Starting at $31.80/hour

Your Impact

As an Aircraft Machinist, you'll play a critical role in supporting aircraft maintenance, repair, and manufacturing operations. Your precision, technical expertise, and commitment to quality will directly contribute to the production of high-performance aviation components that help keep fleets operating safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

As part of the SAMC Back Shop team, you will:

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
  
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  
• Select, install, and adjust appropriate tooling and fixtures.
  
• Monitor machine operations to maintain quality, efficiency, and production goals.
  
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  
• Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring tools and instruments.
  
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and performance.
  
• Document production activities and maintain accurate manufacturing records.
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
  

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
  
• Stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  
• Perform repetitive tasks requiring strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  
• Work with small, detailed parts requiring precision and accuracy.
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
  
• 5+ years of experience operating CNC equipment, including milling and turning machines.
  
• 5+ years of experience with G-code programming and CNC controls.
  
• Strong computer proficiency and communication skills.
  
• Customer-focused mindset with excellent attention to quality.
  
• Ability to work either 1st or 2nd shift based on business needs.
  
• High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM and CATIA software.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Exceptional attention to detail.
  
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  
• Vocational training, technical certification, or associate degree in a related field.
