Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity Sunnyvale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Experience with 2D and 3D EMFEA of generators, motors, or rotating electrical machines. o Experience reviewing electromagnetic models for technical quality and reproducibility. o Familiarity with model setup, meshing, solver controls, and comparison to test data. o Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Physics Degree with 8+ years. o Peer review comments and findings. o Clarification questions for the analysis team. o Recommendations for corrections or improvements. o Summary assessment of model and report readiness.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The contractor will review the EMFEA model, results, and report to confirm technical accuracy, consistency with the approved modeling approach.
Tasks o Confirm the final model is consistent with the approved approach. o Identify and assess any deviations from the approved approach, including documentation and justification. o Review model setup. ogeometry/configuration against drawings. o material definitions, including B-H curves. o winding and excitation definitions. o boundary conditions. o motion setup. o mesh controls and mesh adequacy. o solver settings, including time stepping.
Review results to confirm: o 3D results are appropriately compared with 2D and test results. o all required operating points were evaluated. o reported results align to the correct run cases. o plots and tables are traceable to source runs. o conclusions are supported by the analysis. o Review the report for clarity, completeness, and reproducibility. o Provide clarification questions, review comments, and recommendations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Physics is required. School must be accredited.
