Location: Columbus, MS | Payrate: $42/hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Aircraft Technician
In this hands-on role, you’ll support helicopter completions, deliveries, STC development, training fleets, and demonstrations, helping ensure aircraft meet the highest standards for safety, performance, and airworthiness.
What You’ll Do
Perform detailed inspection, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of aircraft components and systems.
Conduct operational and functional checks to verify proper system performance.
Troubleshoot malfunctions and determine appropriate repairs or corrective actions.
Perform airframe calendar/hourly inspections and hidden-damage inspections.
Support aircraft disassembly/reassembly and movement, including loading/unloading from trailers.
Perform rotor track and balancing and vibration analysis.
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
Apply standard shop practices to aircraft fabrication, repairs, and modifications.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and airworthiness.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of aviation mechanic experience.
Helicopter maintenance experience.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, sketches, and diagrams.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel independently and on short notice.
Preferred Qualifications
A&P License preferred, but not required.
Experience with rotor track and balancing and vibration analysis.
Experience supporting helicopter completions, deliveries, demonstrations, training fleets, or STC activities.
Physical & Work Requirements
This position is approximately 70% onsite and requires hands-on work around aircraft and production areas.
Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., carry up to 30 lbs., push/pull aircraft, turn rotors by hand, and stand, walk, squat, kneel, and work around aircraft as needed. The role also requires the ability to read technical documents/screens, communicate effectively, operate maintenance equipment, travel on short notice, and fly in the aircraft as required.
Required PPE may include safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and protective gloves.
