Location: Columbus, MS | Payrate: $42/hour 

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Aircraft Technician  

In this hands-on role, you’ll support helicopter completions, deliveries, STC development, training fleets, and demonstrations, helping ensure aircraft meet the highest standards for safety, performance, and airworthiness. 

What You’ll Do 

• Perform detailed inspection, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of aircraft components and systems. 

• Conduct operational and functional checks to verify proper system performance. 

• Troubleshoot malfunctions and determine appropriate repairs or corrective actions. 

• Perform airframe calendar/hourly inspections and hidden-damage inspections. 

• Support aircraft disassembly/reassembly and movement, including loading/unloading from trailers. 

• Perform rotor track and balancing and vibration analysis. 

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and engineering drawings. 

• Apply standard shop practices to aircraft fabrication, repairs, and modifications. 

• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and airworthiness. 

Required Qualifications 

• 6+ years of aviation mechanic experience. 

• Helicopter maintenance experience. 

• Ability to read, write, and speak English. 

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, sketches, and diagrams. 

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to travel independently and on short notice. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• A&P License preferred, but not required. 

• Experience with rotor track and balancing and vibration analysis. 

• Experience supporting helicopter completions, deliveries, demonstrations, training fleets, or STC activities. 

Physical & Work Requirements 

This position is approximately 70% onsite and requires hands-on work around aircraft and production areas. 

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., carry up to 30 lbs., push/pull aircraft, turn rotors by hand, and stand, walk, squat, kneel, and work around aircraft as needed. The role also requires the ability to read technical documents/screens, communicate effectively, operate maintenance equipment, travel on short notice, and fly in the aircraft as required. 

Required PPE may include safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and protective gloves.
