Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Engineer (Level 4) for a contract opportunity in Seal Beach, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement • Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: As a member of the Systems Engineering team, you will join a diverse team and apply your skills to analyze and develop system and subsystem requirements, interface control documents, support systems architecture and design, system integration, test, verification, and validation to ensure the system satisfies the intent of customer requirements. This role involves creating innovative solutions to technical challenges, providing system support with automation, modern tools, and overseeing projects to ultimately deliver the end product..Duties may include (but are not limited to): • Leads Ground and System Level verification, validation, integration and test • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, and develop requirements • Writes requirements and ICDs for the ground systems • Supports ConOps development and product design, development, and test • Leads the planning, organization, implementation of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity and technology readiness • Develops and executes test plans, procedures, and verification reports • Resolves cross-functional technical issues • Evaluates customer/operational needs to test system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces • Performs various analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture supporting mission success • Develops Ground Segment Operational Products in support of Space based systems • Supports complex system level threads required to run missions in space • Works with a team of engineers using scaled agile development process • Engages in model-based systems engineering • Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): • Excellent oral and written Communication, Adaptability, Decision Making, Customer Focus, Integrated Systems, Engineering Analysis, and Requirements/Tracing skills • Experience in space systems and working with multi-discipline teams • Experience with Ops Product architecture, design, development, and test • Experience with software requirements verification testing • Experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python, Tcl/Tk) • Experience with Configuration Management tools and processes • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework processes and tools
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study inEngineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (e.g Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
TRAVEL: Possible travel up to 5%
WORK HOURS: FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
