PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an experienced Structural Mechanic. This is an opportunity to bring your aircraft structural assembly skills to a team-oriented production environment where precision, craftsmanship, safety, and quality are critical.
What You’ll Do
Perform structural assembly, fitting, drilling, riveting, and sheet metal fabrication and installation.
Use pneumatic drills, riveting guns, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, and other required tools.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets.
Align and assemble components using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
Shape and form complex angles and configurations to blueprint specifications.
Inspect completed work and correct defects before final inspection.
Perform repairs and rework using DMTs, MRRs, and PCOs.
Maintain required production logs and records.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while supporting 5S and Lean initiatives.
Properly use and maintain company tools and equipment.
Communicate job-related information across shifts and with leadership.
Work with minimal supervision while following established procedures and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 years of related structural assembly experience required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Basic computer and shop math skills.
Ability to read a scale and perform basic calculations.
Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands-on craft skills.
Professional attitude and ability to work effectively on a team.
Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
Must be available to work any shift.
Ability to climb ladders, stands, and stairs; work in confined or restricted areas; and lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam strongly preferred.
Previous aircraft structural assembly, sheet metal, or aerospace manufacturing experience.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
