Sr. Embedded Software Engineer - 100% ONSITE

Description:
In this role you will be developing highly reliable firmware for microprocessor-based systems, including SoC and SoM platforms for developed power management systems, thermal control systems, flight camera, and camera controller hardware. This highly visible role is an excellent opportunity for an exceptional individual to become integral to the development of our space mission products. Responsibilities
• Develop software solutions to meet system specifications including performance requirements
• Work with the team to author / conduct software static and dynamic analysis
• Work with the team to draft and release relevant software documentation such as requirements specifications, design specifications, and design documents
• Collaborate on the development of Agile Epics & Stories to meet project objectives
• Create, organize, and estimate tasks required to meet story objectives including verification and/or demonstration
• Collaborate with SQA on test concepts, plans, and integration of testing into the development cycle.
• Effectively document software designs
• Present and advocate for software solutions to other Engineers and customers (as required)
• Work cross functionally on projects with other teams across Space
• Some occasional travel may be required

Ideal Experience
• BS/MS Degree in CS, CE, EE, Math or related field
• A minimum of 10 or more years of experience building and shipping high reliability embedded systems using embedded Linux
• Be technically proficient with the complete Software Development Life Cycle and have relevant experience working in a regulated software environment (Military, Healthcare, Space, etc)
• Be familiar with common tools like git, make, cmake, and JIRA
• Previous work experience with operating systems fundamentals such as schedulers, network stack, file system & memory management
• Experience with SoC/SoM system design for hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Serial, & Ethernet
• Familiarity with various data integrity checks and mitigation methods for operations in harsh environments
• Familiarity with the Linux operating system in both a desktop and embedded environment
• Experience technically leading software projects from requirements to V&V
• Proficiency in C, C++
• US Citizenship required

• Excellent communication skills
• Experienced in software architecture, memory mapping, caching, DMA, interrupts
• Experience with development tools including Atlassian and Jenkins automation
• Experience with RTOS and/or Embedded Linux device drivers and bootloaders
• User and proponent of Agile methods
• Experienced Python
• Experienced with Microcontrollers
• Experience in image processing for camera-based sensor applications
• Experience with the YOCTO environment
• Experience with Doxygen or other documentation generator tool
• Mentorship of junior engineers
