As a Tool Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical liaison between internal engineering teams and supplier partners, overseeing the complete tooling lifecycle from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end design, procurement, fabrication, and implementation of specialized aerospace tooling.
Partner closely with engineering, program management, procurement, supplier management, and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling solutions meet program requirements.
Develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) defining technical requirements, scope, quality expectations, and contract deliverables.
Evaluate supplier capabilities and support the ongoing management of approved supplier networks.
Monitor supplier performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide technical oversight to ensure composite and metallic tooling is manufactured to strict aerospace and industrial specifications.
Review supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reports while driving resolution through established quality processes.
Investigate supplier non-conformances, identify root causes, and lead corrective and preventive action initiatives.
Coordinate source inspections and collaborate with customers and quality teams as required.
Verify End Item Data Packages and manufacturing Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) prior to shipment.
Utilize supplier performance databases and quality management assessment tools to evaluate supplier readiness and capability.
Drive manufacturing execution to ensure tooling programs are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality requirements.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, including:
Mechanical Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering
Aerospace Engineering
Or a related technical discipline
Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and engineering reports.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience using 3D CAD software.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and supplier organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
Experience working with composite materials and composite tooling.
Supplier audit and assessment experience.
Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) training or experience.
Lean Manufacturing experience or certification.
Aerospace manufacturing experience.
Experience managing tooling fabrication projects from concept through production implementation.

Pay Details: $58.53 per hour
