Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3's for a contract opportunity in luka, MS.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o High School Diploma or GED.
o Minimum of 4 years of structures/composites experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
o This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces.
o Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
o Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirators fitting requirements.
o Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to starting.
o Must have the active secret clearance to start.
o Must successfully complete and pass the "ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance" within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need.
o The ability to utilize a computer for basic functions (including navigating through windows operating systems, getting online, executing online training modules and ability to be trained using on the job software).
o Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Read and understand blueprints.
o Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools.
o Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
o Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming.
o Measures parts with precision tools such as, micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
o May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure.
o Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
o Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor.
o Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
o Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools.
o Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, blueprints, etc.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
4/10 workweek. This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts).
