Position: Industrial Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Location: San Antonio, TX (100% Onsite)
Schedule: 1st Shift, 4x10 Schedule (Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday)
Pay Rate: Starting at $48 to $58 per hour
As an Industrial Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting a high-profile aviation program by developing operational strategies, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring production efficiency. You'll leverage engineering principles, analytical tools, and Lean methodologies to drive improvements in cost, quality, schedule performance, and resource utilization.

As a key member of the Industrial Engineering team, you will:
Develop operating plans and recovery plans to support production goals and schedule commitments.
Create and maintain models, databases, and analytical tools to evaluate production performance, trends, and operational impacts.
Provide actionable metrics and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
Develop, implement, and enhance processes that improve quality, reduce costs, and increase schedule performance.
Apply Lean and Industrial Engineering methodologies to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Conduct process effectiveness studies and recommend solutions for operational challenges.
Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Perform risk assessments utilizing tools such as work breakdown structures, precedence networks, and resource allocation models.
Support multiple projects while balancing competing priorities and timelines.
Utilize engineering methods including mathematical modeling, simulation, and statistical analysis to optimize processes and resource utilization.
Analyze value streams, capacity, throughput, workflow, logistics, lead times, and supplier performance.
Support efficient use of facilities, equipment, materials, and labor resources.
Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams to gather and analyze data.
Observe production activities, document processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or Production Engineering within a manufacturing or factory environment.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and project management.
Knowledge of manufacturing operations, manufacturing planning, engineering drawings, specifications, and Lean principles.
Experience with one or more of the following:
Python
SQL
VBA
SAS
Minitab
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, TX.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Ability to enter aircraft using stairs or ladders.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience.
Experience with 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools such as IVT.
Knowledge of advanced production scheduling tools.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience leading and conducting time studies and presenting results to leadership.
Cost Account Management experience utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
Experience supporting complex, high-visibility manufacturing programs.
