Position: Industrial Engineer

Location: San Antonio, TX

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)

Schedule: 1st Shift, 4x10 Schedule (Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday)

Pay Rate: Starting at $55.27 per hour

Work Environment: 100% Onsite





About the Role



As an Expert Industrial Engineer, you will serve as a key contributor in developing strategic operating plans, leading recovery initiatives, optimizing manufacturing workflows, and improving overall business performance. Leveraging advanced Industrial Engineering principles, data analytics, and project leadership skills, you'll help drive operational efficiency and support critical production objectives.



This position offers the opportunity to collaborate across multiple functions, influence decision-making at various levels, and lead initiatives that directly impact quality, cost, schedule performance, and resource utilization.





What You'll Do



Drive Process Improvement & Operational Excellence




  • Develop and implement operating plans and recovery plans to support production goals and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance schedule performance through Lean and Industrial Engineering methodologies.
  • Establish and improve processes, standards, and best practices across operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive measurable business results.


Analyze Data & Deliver Strategic Insights




  • Develop models, databases, spreadsheets, and analytical tools to evaluate operational performance.
  • Conduct statistical analyses, trend studies, operational research, and production impact assessments.
  • Present actionable metrics, findings, and recommendations to management, leadership teams, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze staffing requirements, workload demands, and resource allocation strategies.


Lead Projects & Manage Risk




  • Define project objectives, scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments using project management tools including:

    • Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
    • Precedence Networks
    • Resource Allocation Models


  • Lead cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed.


Optimize Value Streams & Manufacturing Performance




  • Analyze and improve capacity, capability, throughput, workflow, logistics, and production processes.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, make-versus-buy decisions, and operational risks.
  • Develop efficient process designs utilizing engineering methods, simulations, mathematical models, and statistical tools.
  • Support facility, personnel, material, and equipment optimization initiatives.


Collaborate Across the Organization




  • Gather and analyze shop-floor data to identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Observe, document, and evaluate manufacturing and production activities.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, leadership, suppliers, and support organizations to implement solutions and drive results.




Required Qualifications



Education




  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university


Experience




  • 6+ years of experience in Project Planning, Scheduling, or Project Management
  • 6+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer or Production Engineer within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of:

    • Manufacturing Operations
    • Manufacturing Planning
    • Engineering Drawings and Specifications
    • Lean Manufacturing Principles


  • Experience using analytical and programming tools such as:

    • Python
    • SQL
    • SAS
    • VBA
    • Minitab




Additional Requirements




  • Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, TX
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, enter production areas, climb stairs or ladders, and lift up to 35 pounds
  • Consistent and reliable attendance




Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience within aerospace, aviation, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools such as IVT
  • Familiarity with advanced scheduling systems such as Aurora
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • 6+ years of experience conducting and leading time studies
  • Experience presenting operational findings and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Cost Account Management experience
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles
  • Advanced experience with manufacturing optimization and strategic resource planning

Pay Details: $55.27 per hour
