Pay: $55.00 - $59.00/hour
Location: Wichita, KS
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant-Long Term Contract
Schedule: Monday through Friday, with the ability to work any assigned shift. Weekend and overtime work may be required.
As an Assembly Mechanic, you will play a critical role in the assembly, installation, inspection, and testing of complex aircraft structures and systems. Working from engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements, you'll help ensure every component meets the highest standards of safety, functionality, and performance.
This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced aerospace manufacturing technologies, including highly automated CNC-controlled equipment, while supporting some of the most innovative aircraft programs in the industry.
Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete structural and system components.
Build subassemblies and end items using engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications.
Perform functional testing and verify proper fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.
Utilize tooling and equipment to assemble components into completed structures.
Verify work complies with engineering specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.
Conduct dimensional inspections using precision mechanical and electronic measuring tools.
Identify and report discrepancies and non-conforming conditions according to established procedures.
Maintain inspection documentation and quality records.
Support process surveillance activities to ensure compliance with manufacturing requirements.
Set up and operate conventional and CNC fastening equipment, including systems similar to:
Multi-Task Gantry Riveters (MTGRs)
Brotje Systems
C-Frames
IPAC Equipment
Operate advanced Automated Floor Drilling Equipment (AFDE) following training provided.
Perform routine preventive maintenance activities on production equipment and tooling.
Ensure equipment and tool certifications remain current.
Assist with training and mentoring assembly personnel.
Support continuous production flow by collaborating with employees across classifications.
Provide technical guidance and leadership related to aircraft assembly and installation processes.
Cross-train in inspection functions and become SIA-qualified.

Structural Inspection
5 to 10 years of machine operation experience in the aerospace industry
Strong experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions
Knowledge of aircraft assembly, installation, inspection, and manufacturing processes
Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
Ability to perform mechanical assembly and system installation to exact specifications
Strong understanding of quality assurance standards and documentation practices
Ability to stand and work for the entire shift
Ability to work any assigned shift, including overtime and weekends as needed
Ability to start within two weeks
Experience operating Automated Floor Drilling Equipment (AFDE) or similar CNC-controlled machinery
Experience with advanced aerospace fastening systems and automated drilling equipment
Background in aircraft structures, precision assembly, or systems installation
Prior inspection experience and working knowledge of non-conformance reporting processes
Experience providing technical leadership or training within a manufacturing environment
