Industrial Engineer 2
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Industrial Engineer (Level 2) for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
2+ years of experience with Project Planning, Scheduling, Project Management.
2+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer or Production Engineer in a factory environment. Familiarity with Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Planning, engineering drawings and specifications, and lean concepts (certifications preferred).
Experience with programming languages such as Python, SAS, VBA, SQL, Minitab
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates should be comfortable working in a high pressure, fast paced environment. In this role you will have the opportunity to apply Industrial Engineering concepts to develop operating plans and recovery plans, conduct capacity and constraint-based analysis, develop and refine precedence networks, and conduct overall process effectiveness studies. You will also have opportunities to develop, implement, and improve processes focused on lowering costs and improving schedule performance and quality. Candidates must be able to operate within a multi-functional team, coordinating with various departments. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
Develops Operating plans and Recovery plans as needed.
Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, trend and production impacts), and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers (e.g., management, senior leadership, other departments, suppliers).
Develops, implements, and improves processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
Provides support to complete various projects as needed.
Under general supervision, analyzes and designs value streams, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
Candidate must be able to interact with other employees to gather data for process improvements. This may include observing, documenting processes, and collecting data in manufacturing areas or on aircraft during various production phases.
Schedules work plans, conducts data analysis (historical, trends and production impacts), staffing and process improvements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Aircraft / Aerospace industry experience.
Experience with 3D Computer aided design tools such as IVT.
Experience with client standard scheduling tools such as Aurora.
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.
2+ years of experience conducting/leading Time studies and reporting out to leadership.
Cost Account Management experience with applied Earned Value Management principles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to walk, stand, and enter aircraft via steps or ladders.
Able to lift up to 35lbs
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
WORK HOURS:
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 5:30 AM - 2:30 PM
