Position: Cable and Harness Technician

Location: Melbourne, FL 32901

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)

Schedule: 4x10 Shift (Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Pay Rate: $32.84 per hour

Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

As a Cable and Harness Technician, you'll play a critical role in the assembly, testing, and fabrication of cable and harness systems that support advanced aerospace and aviation technologies. Your expertise will help ensure that complex electronic systems are built to exact specifications, meet demanding quality standards, and perform reliably in mission-critical applications.

What You'll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assemble and build cable and harness systems according to engineering specifications.
  
• Read and interpret work instructions, schematics, wire lists, and technical drawings.
  
• Perform fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic and electromechanical systems.
  
• Support engineering development activities, prototype builds, and product improvements.
  
• Conduct routine testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of electronic assemblies.
  
• Perform operational tests to verify conformance to design and quality requirements.
  
• Diagnose and isolate hardware malfunctions down to the component level.
  
• Collect and document engineering test data.
  
• Provide technical support to engineers and cross-functional teams.
  
• Maintain organized workspaces through proper tool control and 5S practices.
  
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, operation sheets, and production schedules.
  
• Communicate project status, technical concerns, and progress updates to shop leads and management.
  

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  
• Minimum of 2 years of additional education and/or related technical experience.
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering work instructions, schematics, wire lists, and technical drawings.
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and moderate physical work.
  
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  
• Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and Special Access Program authorization within a reasonable timeframe, as required by business needs.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  
• Technical degree, vocational training, or some college coursework in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field.
  
• Hands-on experience with:
  
  
  
  • Cable and harness assembly
    
  • Mechanical assembly
    
  • Electronics testing and troubleshooting
    
  • Electronics evaluation and diagnostics
    
  
  
  
• Experience supporting engineering development, prototyping, or aerospace manufacturing environments.
  
• Strong understanding of quality processes and technical documentation.
