Location: Indianapolis, IN | Payrate: $30 - $35/hour | Schedule: 7am to 3:30 pm
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the complex metal components manufacturing and repair industry to hire an experienced Advanced Machinist. If you're passionate about precision machining, advanced CNC technology, and producing high-quality aerospace components, this is your opportunity to make an impact.
In this role, you'll perform complex machine setups and operate state-of-the-art five-axis mill/turn equipment to manufacture critical aerospace components with exceptional accuracy. Your expertise will help deliver products that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
What You'll Do
Set up and operate large five-axis mill/turn machining centers to produce precision aerospace components.
Machine titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and other specialty metals to tight aerospace tolerances.
Read and interpret blueprints, routers, and work instructions to ensure quality and compliance.
Verify finished parts meet dimensional and aerospace specifications.
Utilize Mazak controls, dial indicators, and probing systems to establish work offsets and machine setups.
Safely prove out new programs using single block, distance-to-go, and other machining techniques.
Operate Hiemer heat shrink tooling systems and Speroni tool measurement equipment.
Collaborate with programming and engineering teams to improve processes and support new product introductions.
Maintain a safe work environment while following all FAA safety-sensitive requirements and PPE guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Technical certificate in machining or a related field, or 3–6 years of machining experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience setting up and operating CNC mill/turn machining centers.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routers, and technical documentation.
Strong mathematical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to safely lift at least 25 pounds.
Commitment to quality, precision, and workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience machining titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.
Knowledge of G & M code programming.
Experience setting up and operating Mazak machinery and controls.
Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing or other precision machining environments.
