JOB TITLE: Polymer Technician
LOCATION: Horsham, PA
PAY RATE: $35.00-40.00/hour
We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)
Clearance: Existing Secret security clearance required and ability to maintain that level during employment.

Shift: 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Mon-Fri), 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Mon-Fri), and 3rd shift (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Sun-Thurs) as needed.

Summary:
Performs hands-on preparation, mixing, weighing, and handling of polymer resins, adhesives, fillers, and additives.
Operates standard fabrication and processing equipment including mixers, pneumatics, viscometers, scales, ovens, vacuum pumps, furnaces, pumps, and curing equipment.
Operates complex polymer mixing control systems using diaphragm pumps, auger style mixers, compressed gas, mass flow meters, heated lines, static mixers, and impingement mixing.
Conducts specimen preparation for mechanical, thermal, and chemical testing.
Operates material characterization equipment including DSC, TGA, rheometers, microscopes, and tensile testers.
Records and documents detailed lab notes, batch records, fabrication logs, and processing data.
Assists in collecting and reducing test data and provides preliminary observations to engineers.
Follows established process documents, work instructions, and safety protocols for polymer processing.
Packages and labels materials, specimens, and shipments per internal procedures.
Supports setup and execution of experiments, production runs, and material processing activities.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Existing Secret security clearance required and ability to maintain that level during employment.
Associate degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Materials, Engineering Technology) or equivalent hands-on laboratory or manufacturing experience.
Experience handling polymers, chemicals, adhesives, or similar materials.
Ability to read and follow detailed procedures, work instructions, and safety documentation.
Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Basic understanding of laboratory or production equipment operation.
Ability to operate complex polymer mixing control systems.
Experience operating material characterization equipment including DSC, TGA, rheometers, microscopes, and tensile testers.
Ability to work independently and support setup and execution of experiments and production runs.
