Pay Rate: Starting at $88.65/hour

Shape Critical Aircraft Structures That Keep Aviation Moving

As a Structural Design Engineer, you'll support  Commercial Airplanes Structures organization, working on complex aircraft structural systems that are essential to aircraft performance, safety, and certification.

Your expertise will help drive engineering solutions related to landing gear systems, aircraft doors, and flight deck or passenger windows while supporting structural integrity and product development initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems and contribute to some of the world's most advanced commercial aircraft programs.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Develop and evaluate structural design solutions for commercial aircraft components
  
• Support aircraft structure development involving:
  
  
  
  • Landing Gear Systems
    
  • Aircraft Doors
    
  • Flight Deck Windows
    
  • Passenger Windows
    
  
  
  
• Analyze structural performance and recommend technical solutions
  
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support aircraft design and development efforts
  
• Interpret engineering requirements and translate them into practical design solutions
  
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
  
• Provide recommendations to address complex structural challenges
  
• Work within established engineering processes and standards
  
• Support product lifecycle activities while ensuring quality, safety, and compliance requirements are met
  
• Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in:
  
  
  
  • Mechanical Engineering
    
  • Aerospace Engineering
    
  • Aeronautical Engineering
    
  • Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis)
    
  • Materials Science
    
  
  
  
• Degree must be from an ABET-accredited university
  

Experience

• 16+ years of related experience in aircraft structures engineering
  
• Strong background supporting aircraft structural design and analysis
  
• Experience solving complex engineering challenges within aerospace environments
  

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following experience will stand out:

• Previous experience supporting  structural commodities
  
• Experience with 3D modeling tools such as:
  
  
  
  • CATIA
    
  • ENOVIA
    
  
  
  
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  
• Familiarity with:
  
  
  
  • DCCS
    
  • ETAC
    
  • PDM systems
    
  
  
  
• Ability to thrive in highly dynamic, fast-paced engineering environments
  
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  
• Proven ability to work independently and identify needs without extensive oversight
  
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
  
• Demonstrated success developing innovative solutions to a broad range of structural engineering challenges

• Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience, or
  
• Master's degree with 12+ years of experience, or
  
• PhD with 9+ years of experience
