Chipton-Ross is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in aerospace structural analysis; a master's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
o Experience in bonded composite structural analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
o Experience in metallic structural analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
o Proficiency in structural analysis methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis and large Finite Element Model manipulation.
o Familiarity with FEMAP.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for an Engineer Structural 3 to support our F/A-18 department in El Segundo, CA.
F/A-18 Stress Engineering team is seeking an engineer who can analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications for metals, non-metallic materials, and composite structures. Responsibilities include analyzing fatigue, damage tolerance and durability of metal and composite airframe structures, as well as performing analysis using tools such as FEMAP and other software applications.

Essential Functions:
o Perform stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.
o Review completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
o Collaborate effectively with other disciplines during the design development process.
o Present and explain structural issues and solutions clearly to internal management and customers.
o Maintain and improve part designs, equipment, and systems to support post-production deliveries.
o Develop comprehensive and practical solutions to complex problems that align with program objectives.
o Evaluate as-built products for compliance with standards, procedures, and specifications.
o Utilize structural analysis methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience with fatigue, damage tolerance, and durability analysis.
o Experience working on military aircraft.
o Experience working on F/A-18 aircraft.
o Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
o Knowledge of MIL-STD regulations as they pertain to aerospace structures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 5/40 work week. This role is on site full time in El Segundo, CA.
