Supplier Manufacturing Engineer 2
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, aerospace or related field.
o Experience in manufacturing environment.
o CNC Machining.
o Composite Applications.
o Knowledge of GD&T.
o Technical documentation and writing.
o Knowledge of Microsoft software suite such as excel and power point.
o 3D CAD experience.
o Ability to obtain a Secrete Clearance required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Looking for a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to support our El Segundo Tooling department. As a member of the Offsite Fabrication department, you'll get to work directly with our sub tier suppliers to manage the fabrication of tools.
o Seeking an experienced engineer to oversee the end-to-end design, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning of specialized tooling at our sub tier suppliers. In this role you will act as the primary technical liaison between our internal engineering teams and manufacturing partners. You will author comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs), evaluate sub tier supplier capabilities and drive hands on manufacturing execution to ensure composite and metallic tools are built to rigorous aerospace and industrial specification on schedule and budget.
Responsibilities:
o Collaborates with program management, engineering, subcontracts/procurement functional management and supplier management teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers. Defines the Supplier statement of work with the scope of contract requirements and NGAS policies and processes and supplier quality requirements. Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list within the Tooling Suppliers and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
o Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process through tool deviation requests and QA processes. Evaluates supplier-non-conformances, negative performance trends and failures and determines root cause and implements corrective and preventive actions. Manages source inspection processes and coordinates with customers as required. Verify that End Item Data Packages within QTIS are complete and manufacturing CoCs are reviewed prior to shipment. Utilizes supplier performance databases and supplier quality management system assessment tools to provide objective evidence of supplier's capability to perform.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Advanced degree in Engineering field, Composites experience.
o Supplier Audit assessment experience, Root Cause and Analysis training or Lean Manufacturing experience or certification.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, aerospace or related field is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. This position will serve on-site at El Segundo.
