Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Aircraft OEM

TeamGlobal is seeking an experienced **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer** for an exciting aerospace opportunity in **Savannah, Georgia**.
The ideal candidate will have extensive aircraft design engineering experience, strong hands-on expertise with **CATIA V5**, and experience working within **SmarTeam, ENOVIA, or Teamcenter**. This is a senior-level engineering position requiring the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues, support major aircraft programs, and provide authoritative engineering guidance.
## Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
* Minimum of **10 years of experience within a specific engineering discipline** or **15 years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines** with a Bachelor's Degree.
* Related advanced degrees may be credited toward experience requirements:
* Master's Degree – up to 2 years.
* PhD – up to 4 years.
* Advanced degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
## Required Experience
* Strong hands-on experience with **CATIA V5**.
* Experience with **SmarTeam, ENOVIA, or Teamcenter**.
* Extensive aircraft mechanical design and engineering experience.
* Experience supporting aircraft development, modification, production, or integration programs.
* Ability to independently resolve complex engineering and design issues.
* Experience developing technical solutions while balancing product requirements, cost, quality, and schedule.
* Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
* Strong technical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
## Preferred Experience
* Mechanical Engineering experience within an **aircraft OEM environment**.
* Previous experience supporting major business, commercial, or military aircraft programs.
* Experience serving as a senior technical resource, lead engineer, or subject-matter expert.
* Strong knowledge of aircraft design, engineering documentation, configuration management, and product development processes.
## Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Guide the successful completion of major engineering programs and complex aircraft design activities.
* Select appropriate engineering methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex technical issues.
* Serve as a recognized technical authority and provide guidance to engineering associates and cross-functional teams.
* Anticipate and resolve complex engineering challenges using creative and effective solutions.
* Develop engineering standards, processes, and technical guidance for diverse engineering activities.
* Balance technical requirements, product performance, cost, quality, and program schedule when developing solutions.
* Exercise significant latitude in determining technical objectives and engineering approaches.
* Make technical decisions and recommendations recognized as authoritative within the engineering discipline.
* Support aircraft development, production, modification, and engineering activities.
* Maintain current knowledge of developments within the engineering specialty and related aircraft technologies.
* Recommend innovations and improvements that increase product quality, efficiency, and engineering effectiveness.
## Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will have **10+ years of aircraft mechanical design engineering experience**, strong **CATIA V5** skills, experience with **SmarTeam, ENOVIA, or Teamcenter**, and a background supporting aircraft programs within an OEM or major aerospace environment.
Candidates must be comfortable working independently, solving complex aircraft design issues, and providing senior-level technical leadership throughout the engineering and production lifecycle.
