Avionics Design Engineer

Description:
**Location:** Chesterfield, MO
**Industry:** Aerospace / Aviation
**Company:** TeamGlobal

TeamGlobal is actively seeking a highly skilled **Avionics Design Engineer** for an exciting aerospace opportunity in **Chesterfield, Missouri**.

This role is ideal for an experienced avionics professional who can take an aircraft modification from concept through installation support. The selected candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with **aircraft wiring design, avionics system integration, electrical schematics, CAD layouts, installation drawings, ADS-B systems, and shop-floor engineering support**.

We are looking for someone who understands not only how avionics equipment is installed, but **how aircraft systems communicate, interface, and integrate together**.

## Essential Job Duties

* Develop, revise, and support **aircraft avionics wiring installations and system modifications**.
* Analyze proposed avionics installations and determine required **electrical interfaces, wiring connections, signal routing, and equipment interconnects**.
* Create and revise **wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, installation drawings, and CAD layouts**.
* Support the integration of new avionics equipment into existing aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
* Coordinate directly with **aircraft technicians, installers, production teams, and shop-floor personnel**.
* Provide hands-on engineering support during **installation, modification, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and aircraft return-to-service activities**.
* Troubleshoot wiring, interface, installation, and equipment-integration discrepancies.
* Support avionics upgrade programs involving **ADS-B systems and regulatory requirements**.
* Review aircraft configurations, existing avionics architecture, and system interfaces to determine proper installation requirements.
* Communicate directly with **avionics manufacturers and OEM technical-support teams** to obtain engineering data and resolve technical issues.
* Translate engineering requirements into clear instructions for technicians and installers.
* Work collaboratively with engineering, production, quality, and aircraft modification teams to ensure successful installations.

## Required Qualifications

* Minimum **5 years of professional avionics design experience**.
* Strong experience with **aircraft electrical wiring design and avionics installations**.
* Demonstrated experience developing and revising:

* Wiring diagrams
* Electrical schematics
* Avionics interconnect drawings
* Installation drawings

* Ability to work directly with avionics manufacturers for technical support and engineering guidance.
* Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Must be able to speak and understand English.
* Must work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented aerospace environment.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with **Microsoft Visio**.

* Corporate, business aviation, commercial aircraft, or special-mission aircraft experience.
* Experience with **aircraft modification, retrofit, modernization, or avionics upgrade programs**.
* Strong avionics integration background.
* Knowledge of **EWIS, electrical interfaces, signal routing, and aircraft wiring practices**.
* Experience working with avionics equipment from manufacturers such as:

* Garmin
* Collins Aerospace
* Honeywell
* BendixKing
* Universal Avionics
* Experience supporting aircraft installations from **engineering design through shop-floor execution and troubleshooting**.

## Highly Desired Aerospace Experience

Candidates with strong experience in the following areas are highly encouraged to apply:

**Avionics Design | Avionics Integration | Aircraft Electrical Systems | EWIS | Wiring Design | Wiring Diagrams | Electrical Schematics | Avionics Interconnects | Aircraft Modifications | ADS-B | Avionics Installations | CAD | Microsoft Visio | AutoCAD | Aircraft Integration | Shop-Floor Support | Avionics Troubleshooting | Aircraft Retrofit | System Interfaces | OEM Technical Support**

## Why This Role Stands Out

This is not a basic avionics technician position.

We are seeking an engineer who can **understand the aircraft, evaluate the avionics architecture, determine how systems communicate, develop the required wiring and installation documentation, support the technicians on the aircraft, and solve integration challenges when they arise**.

If you are an experienced Avionics Design Engineer who enjoys solving complex aircraft-integration challenges and working directly with both engineering and production teams, we want to hear from you.
