PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace and advanced manufacturing company to find a hands-on Manufacturing Technician Level 1 who is ready to put their mechanical and/or electrical assembly skills to work in a high-quality production environment.

This is a Long-term-to-Direct-Hire opportunity for a detail-oriented technician who enjoys working with tools, testing equipment, technical drawings, and precision assemblies. You’ll play an important role in assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and improving products that are built to exacting standards.

What You’ll Do

As a Manufacturing Technician, you’ll be responsible for assembling and testing production products while maintaining strict safety, quality, and production standards.

  • Assemble, align, fit, and test mechanical and electrical components using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and specialized equipment.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, specifications, parts lists, and test procedures.

  • Complete assembly history records and documentation accurately to maintain product traceability.

  • Perform testing using test stands, instruments, and other manufacturing/test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and product issues, identify failures, and perform repairs and rework to meet specifications and tolerances.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and promptly report safety, quality, tooling, equipment, and material issues.

  • Work with ESD-sensitive components and flight hardware while following established handling procedures.

  • Follow FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) prevention practices and maintain a safe, clean work area.

  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and build processes.

  • Assist with building and setting up new work cells and test setups.

  • Help develop and improve assembly history records, test procedures, equipment, and build sequences.

  • Provide training and guidance to other Manufacturing Technicians as needed.

  • Participate in required Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality programs and training.

  • Work overtime, weekends, or evenings when business needs require.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3–6 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly, manufacturing, testing, or a related field.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Basic math skills and the ability to make accurate measurements.

  • Experience working in a production assembly, manufacturing, or test environment.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specifications.

  • Familiarity with mechanical and/or electrical equipment assembly and testing.

  • Ability to learn and follow detailed assembly and testing procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and traceability.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments.

  • Ability to learn and use Oracle, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Ability to work safely with manufacturing tools, equipment, ESD-sensitive components, and PPE requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform repetitive standing, walking, sitting, and tool-use activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Soldering experience, including J-STD-001 certification (current or expired).

  • Knowledge of hydraulics and/or gear and gerotor pumps.

  • Experience with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) equipment, including vibration tables and thermal cycling.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Every other Friday off

  • Normal hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Working Fridays: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Earlier start times may be accommodated depending on department needs; some employees begin before 6:00 AM.

  • Overtime, weekends, and evenings may occasionally be required.

  • Work may involve hazardous chemicals, loud noise, and varying temperatures.

  • PPE and strict safety procedures are required.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
