PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead complex aerospace development programs and serve as the technical focal point between customers, engineering teams, program management, and stakeholders.
This role offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge avionics projects while driving technical execution, managing project performance, and ensuring successful delivery of customer commitments. Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development of project proposals, statements of work, and cost estimates.
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
Develop and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project.
Drive successful project execution from initiation through completion.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and program management.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support customer satisfaction by providing timely project updates and technical guidance.
Coordinate activities across engineering, program management, quality, and customer organizations.
Monitor project performance against schedule and budget objectives.
Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics to measure project health and performance.
Track project deliverables and ensure milestone completion.
Develop recovery plans when project risks or variances arise.
Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities.
Manage project issues and corrective action plans.
Control scope growth through disciplined baseline change management processes.
Implement Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies when appropriate.
Drive improvements in project management processes and execution practices.
Support innovation and operational excellence initiatives.
Promote best practices across engineering and project teams.
Bachelor's Degree in:
Engineering
Aerospace Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Systems Engineering
Related technical discipline
Minimum 6 years of project engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
U.S. Person status required due to export control regulations.
Experience managing technical projects involving scope, schedule, cost, and resources.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Previous experience developing:
Military TCAS Systems
Commercial TCAS Systems
ADS-B Transponders
Avionics Systems
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM).
Experience leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
Advanced engineering or technical degree.
Experience working with certification agencies and regulatory environments.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Aerospace project engineering experience
